Republic of Surf™ represents a life-style brand, based in Santa Cruz, California. Established in December 2019, we are an independent republic that stands for all with the laid-back Santa Cruz state of mind; the free spirit, the dreamer, the artist, those who like to work, play, soak up the sun, and of course, love to surf. We are inspired by the beauty of the ocean, love of life and people we surround ourselves with.

We want to credit our logo inspiration to the incredible sculptor Thomas Marsh who created the iconic West Cliff surfer monument near famous surfing spot Steamer's Lane and the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum, which honors surfing in Santa Cruz, California. Marsh sculpted the surfer, and Brian Curtis sculpted the base. Santa Cruz shapers David Stewart and Bill Grace made the 1930s-style surfboard.
